A wolverine can weigh up to 20 kg and may grow to 45 cm in height. With its 15 cm tail it can measure up to 1 m in length. Its forehead and cheeks and a broad stripe from the shoulders to the base of the tail are yellowish white in colour. The rest of the coat is brown. Since the wolverine moves slowly and very noisily, almost blundering, in summer it is not capable of living from hunted prey, instead eating carrion and berries. In the winter on the other hand the wolverine can barely be heard on the snow-covered ground. It has a great advantage over other large animals because, thanks to its broad feet, it hardly sinks into the snow at all. At this time of year its diet contains a wide range of prey animals.
The Warthog from schleich® WILD LIFE is a mammal that lives in Africa and primarily eats roots, tubers and berries. It has wart-shaped growths under the eyes and above the nose. They aren't actually warts but rather particularly thick skin that protects the animal from serious injury during fights. The tusks are used to defend against lions, hyenas, leopards and wild dogs.
The Manatee from schleich® WILD LIFE is a mammal that lives in tropical waters and feeds on seagrass, algae and other aquatic plants. Its closest relative is an elephant. Its front legs have evolved into fins over millions of years, while its hind legs have completely disappeared. The manatee's tail is shaped like a paddle, whereas a dugong, which looks very similar, has a tail fluke that looks like a dolphin.

Kudu have long, slim legs and strikingly large ears. They have a mane running from the back of the head to the base of the tail. The coat is grey-brown and 6-10 white stripes run down the flanks from the middle of the back. During the day the kudu rest in the shade and at night they look for food and water. Since they are dependent on watering holes, in the dry season they roam over large distances. With their large ears they can pick up suspicious sounds from a very long way away.
Badgers have a massive body with a short tail and short, stocky legs. On their feet they have large and powerful claws. Badger fur is very bristly and grows over a rough, loosely fitting skin. A characteristic of the badger is that their colouring is the other way around to normal mammal colouring: The back is lighter than the belly. Hand painted figurine from the Schleich Wild Life Collection. Non-scale figurine.
Wild boar have tusks that can inflict painful wounds on enemies like wolves and bears. In summer, wild boar like to wallow in mud to cool down. It also helps protect them from insect stings.
The mighty Cape Buffalo raises its head and sniffs the air. With its black muzzle, it can sniff out exactly whether strangers are approaching the herd. The buffalo finds it hard to decide: can they keep on grazing or is an enemy closing in? If a strange buffalo tries to approach the herd, it doesn't miss a beat. At a gallop, he charges the uninvited guest, stopping just short of the stranger and lowers its big head. It snorts angrily, pawing at the ground. Its huge horns look so impressive that most intruders will trot off right away. All the better!
Doesn't the American Black Bear look cute? It stretches its shiny snout into the air and looks over with friendly eyes. Wouldn't you just love to give it a cuddle, with its thick fur and cute little ears. But easy does it! Don't underestimate this forest dweller. When they are hungry, bears can get very grumpy! You could always try calming it down with a little bit of honey!

The Jungle Chimpanzee is feared across ELDRADOR®. And rightly so! It moves swiftly through the dense jungle, using its powerful, spike-covered liana tail. Silently, it swings from branch to branch, staying hidden among the treetops. Nothing escapes its keen eyes. With sharp yellow eyes, it watches every jungle visitor. If someone ventures too close, it leaps down from above, jaws wide open in a fearsome attack. So be careful! And always keep an eye above!
