Along with his friends Flower and Thumper, Bambi navigates the trials of growing up, as he learns the value of friendship and perseverance!
One of the first conservation-awareness movies made, a real break-through in Disney animation came when animator Marc Davis studied a book on baby behavior and endowed the animals in Bambi with a range of human facial expressions. The impressionistic art styling of the backgrounds rendered by Chinese American artist Tyrus Wong prompted a reporter to note, “Reviewers will hesitate to describe Bambi as a cartoon… It is more like a fine painting.”
